Privacy Policy

When you register we store your name, email, password hash, and the ranch details you choose to add: ranch name, phone, city, state, and ZIP. Listings store the description, classification, prices, and the photos and video you upload. Bids store the amount and your private maximum. Messages between a buyer and seller after a sale are stored so the thread can be read later. We keep a session cookie so you stay signed in.

Card numbers are entered on Stripe's checkout pages, not on ours. We store a Stripe customer id, the card brand, and the last four digits so we can charge a listing fee, a featured upgrade, a seller commission, or a buyer premium. We do not store a full card number or a security code. Stripe's privacy policy describes how they process that payment data. Stripe can email a receipt to the address on your account when a platform fee is paid.

We use the information to run auctions, show lots to buyers, calculate and collect platform fees, send in-app notices, and prevent abuse. Phone and email are shown to the other party after a sale so you can arrange the cattle payment and pickup. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for unrelated advertising.

Other users see your ranch name and location on a public listing, and a shortened name on bid history. The buyer and seller of a sold lot see each other's contact details. Hosting, database, file storage, and payment processing providers process data for us: Cloudflare for the site and video files, the Postgres host for the database, and Stripe for cards. They are service providers, not the marketplace.

Listings, bids, and fee records are kept as the market's books. You may ask us to correct account details or to close an account that has no open auction and no unpaid platform fee. Closing an account does not erase a completed sale record. Session cookies last until you sign out or they expire.
